A guide to a speedy kitchen clean

If you have ever received a sudden call telling you that you would be hosting a visitor within a few minute without prior notice, you would agree with me that such a position is a very compromising one. Most especially if your home is not in any condition for receiving guests. Cleaning the rest of the house might be somewhat easy in comparison, but the kitchen definitely isn’t. Most especially when there’s no time to get the professional house cleaning experts at BRITENEST in to wave their magic wand. If you haven’t been in such a situation, congratulations! You haven’t been in one of the most stressful domestic emergencies in human history. Yet chances are you still will, sooner than later in fact. There is no need to panic though. These tips have been prepared specifically to help you turn the tides of such situations and get your kitchen clean enough to impress in 10 to 15 minutes tops! Here are the tips.

1. Stack the dishwasher.

If you haven’t stacked the dishwasher from the night before, this is the first thing to do. Get those dirty dishes out of the sink and into the dish washer. Let’s face it, no one likes an eyesore in the kitchen! This shouldn’t take you more than five or six minutes.

2. Clean the sink.

Once the dishes are out of the sink, start cleaning the sink immediately. While stainless steel sinks tend to show more soap grime than porcelain or traditional sinks, they both need a good, hygienic clean. Use some bicarbonate of soda on a cloth and gently rub the sink with it. Then use your normal disinfectant and kitchen cleaner to rinse the sink. It should produce a sparkling result!

3. Wipe the Counters.

Next is to move to the counters. Depending on the material of your kitchen counters, you can either use an all-purpose cleaner or a specific cleaner for the material of your counter to clean your counters.  The end result is a clean and beautiful surface… all in less than one minute of your speedy kitchen clean.

4. Wipe the Appliances.

If you have stainless steel appliances, you should have a stainless steel cleaner for this purpose. If you don’t have a stainless steel cleaner at hand, you are advised to purchase one for future cleaning purposes; but since in this situation, a quick clean is what is required, use any all-purpose cleaner or spray you have at hand. These all-purpose cleaners should also be used on non-stainless steel appliances.

Apply the cleaner onto the surface of your appliances and wipe them clean with a microfiber cloth. This should take you between 1-2 minutes depending on how many appliances you have and how big they are.

5. Clean the hob.

The hob or oven are, more often than not, made to be a focal point of any kitchen nowadays so, it can be embarrassing if you have dust, or even worse, burnt on food on display. Simply wipe down with a small amount of bicarbonate of soda if you do not have a delicate hob, if you do, wipe with an all-purpose kitchen cleaner for sparkling results.

6. Quick vacuum.

If you have a busy family, including a pet, it’s very easy for a kitchen floor to look messy and dirty within a few moments! However, the trick as with most cleaning, is to keep on top of it. However, if this isn’t possible, run the vacuum cleaner over the kitchen floor quickly picking up any loose crumbs.

And with that done, you have a sparkling clean kitchen, and probably some more time to spare to make more preparations for your guests.

So, good luck with your speedy kitchen clean all in less than 15 minutes flat!
